Africa Unity Jersey - for the 10-11 season and to be worn during the World Cup in South Africa.
Created by PUMA, and sanctioned by FIFA, it is the first ever continental football kit. It is the official third kit of the 12 PUMA-sponsored African teams including continental champions Egypt, World Cup qualifiers Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Algeria, as well as Namibia, Senegal, Angola, Mozambique, Togo, Tunisia and Morocco.
Produced in conjunction with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) the 'Play for Life' partnership will support the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity by raising awareness about habitat and species conservation.
The brown pantone was created by mixing actual soil samples from Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Cameroon. The colour gradient transition from brown to blue is a visual metaphor for soil to sky. All of the applications, the number and the badge, are cast in yellow representing the sun shining down on Africa.
